What are Giclée prints?

The word Giclée (pronounced “ghee-clay”) is derived from the French verb gicler meaning “to squirt or spray”
Giclée is a reproduction process that is digitally printed by spraying ink directly onto the paper or canvas. This method offers the highest degree of accuracy and can match the original colours with millions of possible hues. This is why Giclée printing is widely regarded as the very best fine art printing method currently available – and why The Mike Payne Studio have embraced this technique as the preferred method of art reproduction. Giclée printing is the best method of artwork reproduction currently available so with the addition that Mike Payne himself personally signs all prints ordered you are quite simply getting a memorable piece of artwork and a conversation piece which we hope you will cherish for many years to come.

Personal Tuition

From Mike’s Studio in West Sussex , Mike would be happy to give personal tuition on the art of drawing cartoons. Having been discouraged to draw cartoons as a child, Mike feels passionately that everyone should have every opportunity to try to draw cartoons. Mike remembers, as a child, being sternly told by his art teacher that “Cartoons were not art!” but as Mike’s gallery and website clearly show, he has made a good living from doing just that!
Mike’s cartooning tuition sessions inspire children and adults to try their hand at cartooning for both pleasure and profit.
Tuition cost is £60.00 per person per hour
Please contact Mike by email to book a tuition lesson.
